A Journey From Two-Dimensional Papers to Three-Dimensional Origamic Cube

The activity is designed for seventh grade students who are going to discuss polygons, ratio and proportion based on the context of modular Origami. In the activity, communication, connections, reasoning and problem solving abilities which are known as the basic mathematics abilities are also emphasized. The other important property of this activity is that supporting the students’ shared responsibility in the group to accomplish the main task (folding the module of the cube and answering the questions), by completing the simultaneous tasks; folding paper, drawing polygons and finding ratio are required in the activity.
